The Atelier Take
Plain on its own, and one of the better homes for unbonused business spending once paired with a card that transfers points.
Who it suits
Businesses with broad spending that falls outside bonus categories, and owners who hold an Ink Business Preferred or a Sapphire card and want 1.5x transferable points on everything else.
Who should skip it
Businesses that spend abroad, as it charges a 3% foreign transaction fee. Without a card to transfer the points to, 1.5x is worth only 1.5¢ per dollar.
What it earns
Rewards: Chase Ultimate Rewards points (100 points = $1), worth 1¢ each on their own. Moved to an Ink Business Preferred, Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve held by the owner, they become transferable to airline and hotel partners.
1.5x
Every purchase
No cap
5x
Lyft rides
Through September 30, 2027
On their own the points are worth 1¢ each, so 1.5x is 1.5¢ per dollar. Moved to an Ink Business Preferred, Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve, the same points can be transferred, and at TPG’s 2.05¢ valuation 1.5x is then worth about 3.1¢ per dollar.
Other benefits
Instacart+
Three months of Instacart+ when activated by December 31, 2027, with a $20 Instacart credit each month while the membership is active. It then renews at $99 a year unless canceled.
Employee cards
No fee, with individual spending limits.
Points don’t expire
As long as the account is open.
What it is worth
No annual fee, so nothing to earn back. On its own it earns 1.5x on everything, 1.5¢ per dollar as cash, with no cap.
Its real value is beside an Ink Business Preferred or a Sapphire card: every point can then be transferred, so 1.5x becomes about 3.1¢ per dollar at TPG’s valuation. Paired with the Ink Business Preferred, it covers what that card earns only 1x on. The welcome offer alone is then worth about $1,538.
Insurance and protections
Chase lists these on the card’s page; the Guide to Benefits has the full terms. Pay for the rental or purchase with the card to be covered.
Auto rental collision damage
Up to $60,000 for theft and collision damage on most rentals with an MSRP of $125,000 or less, when the rental company’s cover is declined. Primary when renting for business.
Purchase protection
Damage or theft within 120 days of purchase, up to $10,000 per item and $50,000 a calendar year.
Extended warranty
Adds one year to U.S. manufacturer warranties of three years or less.
Roadside assistance
A dispatch service; the call-out fee is billed to the card.
Travel and emergency assistance
Referrals and help while traveling; services themselves are paid for.
