The Capital One Venture’s 75,000 miles come with a $300 hotel credit
75,000 bonus miles plus a one-time $300 credit for hotels booked through Capital One Travel, on a $95 card. What the first year is worth, and who should skip it.
The $95 Capital One Venture has a limited-time offer: 75,000 bonus miles after $4,000 of spending in three months, plus a one-time $300 credit for hotels and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel. Capital One gives no end date.

The miles post once $4,000 of purchases are made within the first three months of opening the account. The $300 is a separate, one-time credit for hotels and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel, and it expires one year after the account is opened.
Miles transfer to more than 15 airline and hotel programs, and the card covers up to $120 of a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application once every four years.
What the first year is worth
Valued at TPG’s 1.85 cents per Capital One mile, the bonus alone is worth about $1,388. The spending needed to earn it adds at least 8,000 more miles.
The credit is only worth $300 to someone who would book a hotel or rental through Capital One Travel anyway. Without it, the first year still comes to about $1,441.
Against the other $95 travel card
The Chase Sapphire Preferred costs the same $95. Its offer is the same number of points for more spending.

Capital One Venture
2 miles per dollar on everything. The $300 comes once, through Capital One Travel.

Chase Sapphire Preferred
3 points per dollar on dining and a few other categories, 1 elsewhere. The hotel credit, through Chase Travel, renews each account year.
TPG values Chase points at 2.05 cents and Capital One miles at 1.85 cents. Both offers need the spending within three months of opening the account.
The fine print
- One credit, one site. The $300 applies only at checkout on Capital One Travel, for hotels and vacation rentals. It can be used in one booking or spread across several.
- It expires a year after account opening.
- No miles on the credited amount. The part of a booking the credit pays for earns nothing.
- Cancellations. The credit comes back after a canceled booking only if it hasn’t expired.
- The 48-month rule. Anyone who received a bonus on the Venture or the Venture X in the past 48 months isn’t eligible.
- Apply from the offer page itself. Capital One warns the bonus may not be available after navigating away from or closing that page.

The Atelier Take
A strong first year for anyone new to the Venture cards who will book one stay through Capital One Travel. Anyone with a Venture bonus in the last 48 months should skip it.
